Source: WrestleChat.net — Seven time WWE Women’s Champion Trish Stratus joined “The Rack” Thursday night and she discussed her pending Hall of Fame induction, what she will be wearing to the ceremony, the poll from her website about her top 10 favorite outfits, who are some of the people she wished she could have faced, her feelings on the state of the current Divas division, her iconic match at WrestleMania 22 vs Mickie James, how does someone come down from the highs of WrestleMania, possibly getting a Mattel Trish Stratus Barbie, an update on her yoga studio, who would she like to see as the next female inductee to the Hall of Fame and more!
Who would she like to see inducted next into the Hall of Fame, female wise: “I mean, I think Lita would be a great pick. She and I obviously sort of had this parallel our entire career. She’s a great friend of mine, I respect her and our career was a real special thing that we had; the relationship and our characters’ relationship as well; I think she would be deserving. But, at the same time, you know it’s a long list. There’s some great women; I know one thing I kept hearing was Luna Vachon; why is Trish Stratus going in before Luna Vachon and I concur. You know, I think Luna, to me, it would be great to see her go in but there’s so many women who’ve contributed to the overall of what women and how women are perceived in wrestling, but these women will all get in at some point. It’s not a matter of will they, it’s a matter of when.”
Wrestlemania week begins today and continues through Friday just in time for Wrestlemania weekend, the Hall of Fame that Saturday then the big show on Sunday! Join us ALL week long & next week, too!
This afternoon, the TrontoSun.com website posted an article/interview they recently did with their hometown girl, Trish Stratus. It gives an indepth look at Trish’s life and career. At the very end, Trish talks about the Lita speculation as her Hall of Fame inductor. Take a look at what Trish said and judge for yourself:
It has been widely rumored that Stratus’s close friend Lita would be inducting her. That’s not the case, Stratus said. “I have someone and you’ll just have to wait,” she said with a laugh. “That’s obviously been swirling around,” she said of the Lita speculation. “It was a difficult choice. There’s a number of people that have really, really impacted my career. In my speech, you’ll know the choice I made is very clear. But you’ll know soon enough.”
Did Trish just deny that Lita is her Hall of Fame inductor or is she trying to pull one over on us? Trish recently did a poll on her official website asking fans who they’d like to see induct Trish and Lita won with a landslide of nearly 75% of the votes. I think to a lot of fans, including me, Lita is the obvious, ultimate choice, but either Trish has denied those rumors that Lita could potentially be her inductor or she’s keeping us in suspense to surprise us with LITA! Guessing continues for another week!

Are AJ & Dolph the new Lita & Edge? — WWE.com took WWE’s sizzling new power couple, Dolph Ziggler & AJ Lee, to task, looking to see whether they’re the natural successors to one of the most controversial pairings in history: Edge & Lita. WWE’s undeniable new power couple Dolph Ziggler & AJ Lee have taken the squared circle by storm. But considering their sizzling appeal, one can’t help but compare them to another great pairing: Edge & Lita — whose controversial union that began in 2005 seized the attention of the WWE Universe and set the squared circle on fire. WWE.com decided to sit down with Ziggler and AJ and see how they felt about being placed in such legendary company. “Absolutely not,” Ziggler insisted without a breath. “Everything I’ve ever done in my entire life, I have scratched and crawled and earned to be an original. And AJ is the most unique Diva the locker room has ever seen. And the two of us together are, quite simply, winners.” When you compare the prominent place Ziggler stands at now in WWE to a similar moment when Edge stood at the crossroads to the next level, the two Superstars have a lot in common. Both have the distinction of calling themselves Mr. Money in the Bank. Both possess an electrifying charisma as well as an unshakable resolve to rise above the expectations of others. And of course, they both have the love of an extremely wild Diva on their arm. But how does AJ feel about that comparisons?
“I think [Lita and I] do have similar personalities,” AJ conceded, “in that we’re different from everything around us. We had to work harder because it’s hard to accept what you don’t understand or know. Also, I think we are both very misunderstood,” she added. “She caused a lot of controversy back with Edge. I’m going through something similar in that people just don’t get [Dolph and my] love. It’s pure love, and people just don’t understand it. Everybody’s just jealous.” But does that mean AJ supports the idea she and the bleach-blond Superstar are the next “Edge & Lita”? “Any woman who has tried to get into this business has to give [Lita] a lot of credit,” AJ said. “If they don’t they’re lying. With that said, I am not the next anybody, I am the first me. And I’m the only me. And there’s never gonna be another me.” While AJ insists she’s one-of-a-kind, perhaps the accomplished Lita also saw something of herself in the outrageous young Diva?
“AJ Lee: she’s not the strongest; she’s not one of those classically hot chicks,” the former Women’s Champion commented in a recent interview with WWE.com. “But she sets herself apart, and you have emotion when she’s out there. You get a sense of who she is, and so I think that’s really cool to see the kid that wasn’t supposed to make it being the one that’s out there. That’s who the fans want to know more about.” When asked about Lita’s thoughts, though, AJ’s first response, once again, caught the WWE.com completely off guard. “I’m glad that when I met her, I stole a locket of her hair,” AJ said with a shockingly serious expression. “And I kept it to this day, because I love her.” Eventually, however, the interview got back to the question.
“It’s true,” AJ continued, referring to Lita’s quote. “I know I’m not the strongest or the hottest. That was the hardest part of getting into this business for me. But look at me now. Despite what Vickie Guerrero would tell you, I am WWE’s ‘Queen Diva.’ So I proved everybody wrong and I’m proud of that.” “Queen Diva,” perhaps, but even royalty has a line of succession. Dolph & AJ follow in the long and notorious tradition of couples like Triple H & Stephanie, Eddie Guerrero & Chyna and Edge & Lita.
“Look, if you want to compare winners from 10 years ago or 20 years ago or 100 years ago, it’s just a waste of time because everything we do is different than anyone that ever came before us,” Ziggler argued. “Edge and Lita did seize the spotlight once,” the outspoken Superstar continued. “And so did 20,000 other people. It’s like anytime somebody is in a tag team, somebody says, ‘Oh, these guys are the ‘new Hart Foundation.’ No! We’re not ‘the new’ anything. We are innovative, original and are putting butts in the seats because of it.” “I think if you try to recreate something,” AJ added as she cuddled up to The Showoff, “you are going to fail. To me, [Edge & Lita] are both Legends and I wouldn’t want to try to be them. I think we are kind of amazing in our own right, and we’re not the next anybody. We are the first ‘us.’ ”
Considering the undeniable similarities between the two pairings, one can’t help but wonder what would happen in a dream Mixed Tag Team Match between them, in which both were at the height of their games. AJ had a more definitive plan, however. “Well first, I would lock up with Lita and steal more of her hair. Next, I’d get a good, deep breath of her scent. And then I would proceed to take her down. “Because at the end of the day, the best advice I ever got was ‘you shouldn’t try to be like your idols,’ ” the always-unpredictable Diva added. “You should try to be better than them. And I know I’m better than her.” Regardless who came before them, there’s no denying Dolph & AJ are blazing their own path of chaos through WWE. And with Big E Langston at their side, the insatiable power couple stands on the cusp of an incredible legacy of their own.
Few Superstars put their bodies and careers on the line during The Attitude Era quite like Matt & Jeff Hardy. Risk-takers who would do anything it took to reach the apex of WWE’s burgeoning tag team division, the six-time World Tag Team Champions continuously broke new ground during The Attitude Era (not to mention new tables, ladders and chairs). Entering WWE under the tutelage of ring veteran “Fabulous Freebird” Michael “P.S.” Hayes, the Hardys combined a devil-may-care attitude with stunning aerial proficiency that put themselves firmly in the hunt for the World Tag Team Championship.
The highfliers’ omnipresent desire for greatness put them at odds with Edge & Christian and The Dudley Boyz, with whom the pair had several innovative tag team collisions. Rounding out Team Xtreme was the stunning and awe-inspiring Lita, a risk-taker in her own right who would use her kinetic high-flying arsenal to capture the Women’s Title an impressive four times.
UA Note: We all know Lita went on to outshine the Hardyz, even after their “prime”. The only other Diva to make the list was Stephanie McMahon at #13. I was surprised to see that Trish Stratus was not on the list, although, it kind of comes down to what these “Icons” did as a whole for the Attitude Era, not just women’s wrestling. Lita has gone beyond anything any other Diva could amount to, even Steph.
Lita is also featured in the “A warrior’s call: unforgettable Superstar returns” playlist.

Lita brings back the Attitude; Lita talks Attitude Era & WWE ’13:
In celebration of “WWE ’13,” WWE.com presents an exclusive interview with Attitude Era icon and fan favorite Lita. The former Women’s Champion talks about what made the women of the Attitude Era so special and gives insight into her favorite moments from a time that was filled with epic moments.
In WWE.com’s second Attitude Era–centric interview in celebration of THQ’s revolutionary “WWE ’13,” we sit down with former WWE Women’s Champion and fan favorite Lita to talk about the days when Attitude ruled the ring. Lita dishes about the differences between the Divas division now and then, and what WWE Universe members are telling her about “WWE ’13.”
WWE.COM: What is your favorite Attitude Era moment?
LITA: One thing that really sticks out to me is when D-Generation X went and took over the show at WCW with the tank. The whole Attitude Era was about pushing the envelope, and [the tank incident] was one of those, no matter how smart you think you are, you were like, whoa! That’s really happening. They’re going to get into trouble over that. So that was pretty exciting. I was at that WCW show, in the audience.
WWE.COM: What is your favorite Attitude Era moment you were involved in?
LITA: I could make a laundry list. I think the first thing for me that was definitely Attitude Era–based and my first really main storyline with WWE was with Eddie Guerrero & Chyna vs. myself & Essa Ríos. [I was] the first woman Chyna interacted with, and to be in there with them was great. They had their funny story going on, and you never knew what my story was with Essa Ríos, so that was one. I think also, when I had a run in with Triple H & Steve Austin when they were together as The Two-Man Power Trip. Looking back on that, I was just excited to be out there with Triple H and “Stone Cold.”
WWE.COM: What are the differences between Attitude Era Women and today’s Divas?
LITA: I think the women of The Attitude Era really did a good job at figuring out who they were and what they wanted to portray to the fans. So each woman was such an individual — you were never going to get Lita and Ivory confused. You’re not going to get the two confused, as opposed to now, is it the hot athletic girl with the short shorts on? No, it’s the other hot athletic girl with the short shorts on. It was about setting yourself apart.
WWE.COM: Which Diva today would best fit in The Attitude Era? Is there a Diva today you’d most like to compete against?
LITA: I think it’s interesting to see the Divas of today and to see who the fans are attaching to. Obviously, right now, it’s AJ Lee, who’s not the strongest; she’s not one of those classically hot chicks. But she sets herself apart, and you have emotion when she’s out there and you get a sense of who she is, and so I think that’s really cool to see the kid that wasn’t supposed to make it being the one that’s out there, and that’s who the fans want to know more about.
WWE.COM: If you had to pick the definitive Superstar or Woman of The Attitude Era, who would you go with?
LITA: Wow. I feel like that’s really hard to answer. There’s definitely a figurehead I could go with who embodied the whole Attitude Era, but I feel like the one thing that was just — from the time the show started to the time the show ended — stuff was going crazy whether it was Val Venis and you thought his towel was going to fall off that night, or if it was Crash Holly running through the hotel trying to regain his 24/7 Hardcore Title, or whether it was more like the big stars like DX, Rock, Mick Foley and Austin. I think classically, Austin would embody The Attitude Era in a nutshell, but he had a pretty damn good supporting cast.
WWE.COM: “WWE ’13” has the entire WWE Universe talking. What are your thoughts on the game?
LITA: It’s fun for me to see the fans tweet about the matches they’re creating in “WWE ’13.” It’s as close as you could possibly get to having this match ever happen. Fans have been tweeting me these matches that never happened that should have. Fans are creating the matches right before their very eyes, as close to real as you can ever get.

As Survivor Series approaches, WWE finds itself reeling from the controversial fallout of both the “AJ scandal” and the situation surrounding rouge referee Brad Maddox. In the wake of such unbelievable turmoil, the memories of other monumental scandals that have rocked the squared circle to its very foundation inevitably rear their ugly heads. And in the combative, emotional world that thrives on controversy itself, one thing is for certain, such outrageous situations have commanded the spotlight.
But what forces have served as the greatest motivation for a scandal to occur? Is it some forbidden love that dare not speak its name, a powerful sense of greed — stronger than loyalty, friendship or even the risk of getting caught — or maybe the boiling blood shared by members of the same family? WWE.com combs through a number of the shocking instances that have made the WWE Universe let out a collective gasp, exposing some of the most infamous scandals in WWE history.
Love, or something like it: Love Triangle
In the modern age, perhaps there is no greater motivation for scandal than the real — or often merely suspected — love between two — or sometimes even three – people! Yes, there have been numerous love triangles that have led to scandalous results. However, the one that could stand out as the most notorious centered around Lita, Edge and Matt Hardy. Who could forget the earth-shattering moment when Hardy learned his moonsault-wielding girlfriend had been having an affair with The Ultimate Opportunist behind his back? The news instantly sent instant buzz through the WWE Universe and the locker room and led to an out-of-control showdown between the two prominent Superstars after Hardy was first released and then re-signed.
While the scandal nearly tore both grapplers apart in a physical sense, though, it also provided widespread notoriety that ultimately helped lead to the rise of The Rated-R Superstar as one of the most controversial Superstars in WWE — not to mention another scandalous moment in the form of a “revealing,” celebration on Raw after Edge won the WWE Title.

“Caught up with Lita and Trish and that was really cool. Both are happy and doing well in their post WWE lives. Being happy certainly accounts for a great deal no matter who we are. The two, amazingly popular Divas and I talked about them closing a Raw broadcast which is rarified air for so many talents much less the Divas who saw, at times, significant but often times limited TV time.
Lita said she felt like she had never left Raw and being in St. Louis Monday felt natural to her. BTW all the yoga that Trish, Lita, and even DDP practice works as all those individuals really looked healthy.
As a matter of fact, I don’t think that I’ve ever seen Lita look any better. I vividly remember the day that I interviewed Lita in my Stamford, WWE office back in the day and kidded her about her “litte, shoulder tattoo” that I heard she sported. I loved her independence and the fact that she had gone to Mexico, alone, and got valuable in ring experience.
I hope that many of today’s Superstars took the opportunity to interact with the many legends that were backstage Monday. If not, they missed a great learning experience.”
JR plugged some of WWE’s new merchandise on WWE Shop and I noticed Lita is featured on the RAW 1,000 Commemorative Poster for $14.99 and the RAW 1,000 Commemorative Photo for $4.99 – I wish WWE would give her official new merchandise!
UPDATE: Lita has been added to the RAW 1,000 Commemorative Plaque for $29.99 now on sale at WWE Shop!
